Dartmouth town offers a host of cafes, pubs, bars and gourmet restaurants to suit every taste whilst there is culture in abundance with a number of art galleries and historic buildings including Dartmouth Castle and Agatha Christie’s former home, Greenway, now cared for by the National Trust as well as the imposing Britannia Royal Naval College.
There are a number of stunning beaches including Blackpool Sands just a short drive away whilst there are opportunities to explore the stunning south Devon Coastline, by walking the South West coastal path. There is also opportunities for sailing and enjoying the water wake boarding, kayaking or relaxing on one of the passenger river boat trips or on the newly refurbished River Dart paddle steamer. The Steam train to Paignton also offers a chance to enjoy the spectacular Devon Countryside by rail as it winds along the river Dart.
The Dartmouth Regatta at the end of August brings further attractions for a week long festival to celebrate the town. Music, fishing and food festivals also held during each year.
